
BMW Reveals Revolutionary Wide-Screen iDrive System Coming in Late 2025
BMW has unveiled its latest iDrive infotainment system at CES 2025, introducing groundbreaking features that will be implemented across all new BMW models from late 2025.
The system's centerpiece is a "Panoramic Vision" display - a full-width screen integrated into the windscreen's base, divided into three customizable sections displaying:
- Speed and driving information above the steering wheel
- Two additional sections for driving mode, music, and communications
The traditional rotary dial controller has been eliminated in favor of:
- Touchscreen controls
- Voice commands
- Steering wheel buttons with context-sensitive functions

A new optional 3D head-up display projects navigation directions onto the road ahead, reducing driver distraction. The steering wheel features dynamic buttons that adapt based on current functions - for example, displaying call controls when receiving phone calls.
