
BMW M Hybrid Leads WEC Prologue as Ferrari Tops LMGT3 in Qatar Night Session
BMW Team WRT topped the final WEC Prologue session at Lusail International Circuit, with Robin Frijns setting the fastest time of 1m38.971s in the No. 20 M Hybrid V8 - the only driver to break into the 1m38s bracket.
The session saw close competition with Sebastien Bourdais' No. 38 JOTA Cadillac finishing just 0.2s behind, followed by Robert Kubica's No. 83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P in third. The second BMW and No. 12 JOTA Cadillac rounded out the top five.

Twelve of the 18 cars completed over 100 laps during the four-hour session, with the No. 5 Porsche logging the highest total at 119 laps. Porsche confirmed their first-ever 963 engine failure from the previous day, though the team remains confident after completing 75% of their planned program.
In LMGT3, Vista AF Corse Ferrari claimed the top spot with Simon Mann's 1m54.790s lap, followed by another Ferrari in second. Heart of Racing's Aston Martin Vantage completed the top three, with TF Sport Corvette and AKKODIS ASP Lexus also breaking into the 1m54s bracket.

The 2025 FIA WEC season will officially begin next week with practice sessions starting Wednesday, qualifying on Thursday, and the 1812km race on Friday at the Lusail International Circuit.
