Alexa Adds EV Charging Station Finder for EVgo Network
EVgo charging stations are now easily discoverable via Amazon's Alexa voice assistant in compatible vehicles. This new feature lets drivers find nearby public charging spots through simple voice commands.
The integration, launching later in 2023, marks EVgo as Amazon's first charging network partner in the United States. Drivers can use natural language commands like "Alexa, find me an EV charging station" to locate available charging points while on the road.
This functionality adds to Alexa's existing vehicle capabilities, which include music playback, phone calls, and other hands-free controls. The feature aims to simplify the charging experience for electric vehicle owners by eliminating the need to manually search for stations.
EVgo operates one of America's largest public fast-charging networks, making this partnership particularly valuable for EV drivers seeking convenient charging solutions.
The service will be available in all Alexa-enabled vehicles and through Alexa auto accessories, expanding access to EVgo's charging infrastructure through voice-activated discovery.
