Nasr, working with Josef Newgarden's Indy 500-winning engineer Luke Mason, focused primarily on energy recovery system (ERS) development. His experience with hybrid systems in Formula 1 and the Porsche 963 GTP program made him particularly valuable for testing the hybrid IndyCar package ahead of the 2025 season.
"It was a very productive day," Nasr commented, emphasizing that sharing his hybrid racing experience was the main goal, with the fastest lap time being a bonus. The test conditions featured relatively cool temperatures for the Coachella Valley region, with most teams focusing on development pieces and setup concepts rather than outright speed.
