Ohta, a 25-year-old Honda factory driver, will also participate in the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen and the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His selection follows an impressive debut in the LMDh car during November's IMSA test at Daytona, which he prepared for using Honda Racing Corporation's simulator.
The Japanese driver brings significant experience from his successful career in multiple series:
- Three seasons in Japanese F4 (2018-2020)
- Concurrent participation in Super Formula, Super GT, and Super Taikyu
- Notable achievements: 11 wins and 13 poles across series
The No. 60 Acura ARX-06 will be piloted by Tom Blomqvist, Colin Braun, Felix Rosenqvist, and Scott Dixon.
Team co-owner Mike Shank expressed enthusiasm about Ohta's addition, noting his strong performance during testing and seamless integration with the team.
The 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship begins with the Roar Before the 24 (January 19-21), followed by the Rolex 24 At Daytona (January 23-26).
