Alex Yankowski rebounded strongly at Bridgeport Motorsports Park after mechanical issues at Port Royal, climbing from 14th to finish fourth in a challenging race. Following last week's rod bearing failure, the team is working with Sy-Murray Motors to resolve their parts concerns.

"It was a tough race," Yankowski commented. "Starting 14th made it challenging to manage tire wear while pushing through the field. Seeing Sheppard pass me near the end showed his experience in managing tires better."

Anthony Perrego and the No. 4* team also recovered well from a difficult Port Royal weekend where they lost two motors. Using a borrowed Wegner Weekend Warrior engine from Carey Terrance, Perrego advanced from 24th to finish fifth in the 60-lap Doug Hoffman Memorial.

"After last week, this was a good run for us," Perrego reflected. "The track was different from last year - slippery but with some grip. We weren't particularly strong early, but staying out of trouble got us into the top ten."

Perrego capitalized on a late-race incident involving Godown and managed to pass Justin Grosso for fifth position. While he showed speed during the Yankowski-Sheppard battle, changes in track conditions, particularly in turns three and four, limited further advancement.

The solid finish provides momentum for both drivers as they continue their 2024 campaigns, with Perrego heading to New Egypt Speedway to defend his Super DIRTcar Series opening race victory.
