The event holds special significance as it takes place near the Series' birthplace. The World of Outlaws' inaugural race was held at Devil's Bowl Speedway, just an hour east of Kennedale, on March 18, 1978.

Last year's debut at Kennedale saw Carson Macedo emerge victorious, beating Texas-native Aaron Reutzel and 2024 champion David Gravel. Macedo also set the current track record of 11.467 seconds during that event.
