Wayne Taylor Details Amicable Andretti Split, Confirms WTR's Future Direction
Wayne Taylor Racing's crucial partnership with TWG Motorsports remains intact despite ending its two-year collaboration with Andretti Global. The split comes as WTR transitions back to Cadillac from Honda/Acura for the 2025 season.
Taylor praised the partnership with Michael Andretti but noted limited integration due to Andretti's commitments to Formula 1 and IndyCar programs. The decision to separate WTR came from Dan Towriss of TWG Motorsports, which maintains ownership stakes in WTR, Andretti Global, Spire Motorsports, and the upcoming Cadillac Formula 1 team.

The team will continue operating from its Brownsburg, Indiana headquarters rather than relocating to Andretti's new Fishers facility. This decision simplifies WTR's transition back to Cadillac and maintains operational stability.
"We operated the same way through Andretti for two years. We still own that shop, and we expanded a bit on that shop," Taylor explained, emphasizing that managing both the manufacturer switch and a facility relocation would have been overwhelming.
Taylor stressed that the split was amicable, with Andretti focusing on other racing ventures while WTR strengthens its relationship with Cadillac and TWG Motorsports.
