In Duel 1, Wallace claimed victory with teammate Tyler Reddick's assistance, beating William Byron by 0.082 seconds. Justin Allgaier made history by qualifying JR Motorsports' first-ever NASCAR Cup Series entry, finishing ninth to secure the 17th starting position for Sunday's race.
A significant crash on lap 14 eliminated Chandler Smith and Helio Castroneves, though Castroneves will still race Sunday using an open exemption provisional.
In Duel 2, Austin Cindric edged Erik Jones in a photo finish, with the race ending under caution. Corey LaJoie secured his spot in the Daytona 500 with a sixth-place finish in his unchartered Rick Ware Racing Ford.
"I've wanted one of these Duel wins for so long," Wallace celebrated after his victory, crediting teammate Reddick for the push that secured his win.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., celebrating his team's qualification, stated, "This means a lot to our team, this little team of JR Motorsports."
The final race order for Duel 1 saw Wallace win, followed by Byron, Ty Dillon, Ross Chastain, and Tyler Reddick. In Duel 2, Cindric won, followed by Jones, Chris Buescher, Denny Hamlin, and Joey Logano.
