Toyota Announces Exit from NHRA Drag Racing After 2025 Season

Toyota's long-standing partnership with NHRA drag racing will conclude after the 2025 season, marking the end of a successful 23-year run in the sport.

Since entering NHRA in 2002, Toyota has achieved remarkable success, including:

  • Over 200 race wins
  • 12 world championships
  • First manufacturers' cup in 2023
  • Official car of NHRA since 2014

Toyota Gazoo Racing currently supports six prominent NHRA teams:

  • AB Motorsports (Antron Brown - Top Fuel champion)
  • DC Motorsports (Alexis DeJoria - Funny Car)
  • Kalitta Motorsports (Doug Kalitta, Shawn Langdon - Top Fuel; J.R. Todd - Funny Car)
  • Ron Capps Motorsports (Ron Capps - Funny Car)
  • Torrence Racing (Steve and Billy Torrence - Top Fuel)
  • SCAG Racing (Justin Ashley - Top Fuel)

Paul Doleshal, group manager of motorsports at Toyota Motor North America, expressed pride in their NHRA involvement and commitment to supporting teams through the 2025 season. Toyota will continue providing tow vehicles, trackside engineering support, and technology to their partner teams until their departure.
