Brown will pilot the No. 15 Ford Mustang for Rick Ware Racing (RWR) in a unique situation where he'll both build and drive the car. As RWR's suspension and drivetrain specialist, the 53-year-old veteran brings decades of Cup Series experience, including stints at Cale Yarborough Motorsports and Roush Racing.

"I've worked my whole life to try to be a Cup driver," Brown said. "For Rick Ware and everybody involved here at RWR to give me the chance to go run a Cup race is so humbling and so heartwarming."

The event marks NASCAR's return to Bowman Gray Stadium for the first time since 1971. Brown will also compete in the Modified Division during the same weekend, providing valuable track time to adjust to recent safety modifications, including new soft walls that will alter traditional racing lines.

Rick Ware expressed confidence in Brown's abilities, particularly at Bowman Gray: "He's got an inside track just because he has touched every single part of these cars. He's a racer, and particularly at this track, he's got a lot of experience."

Brown's unique position as both builder and driver marks a rare occurrence in modern NASCAR, as he'll be involved in every aspect of the car's preparation, from chassis construction to engine installation, before competing in The Clash.
