Team Penske's Daytona 500 Dominance Crumbles in Last-Lap Drama
Team Penske dominated the 2025 Daytona 500 but left disappointed after a series of late-race incidents prevented them from securing victory. The team led 125 of the race's laps across their three drivers.

Austin Cindric, who led a race-high 59 laps, was in control at the white flag but got caught in a multi-car accident on the backstretch after Denny Hamlin's outside move. Despite the disappointing finish, Cindric managed to secure eighth place.
Joey Logano's strong run (43 laps led) ended with 15 laps remaining after contact with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch. Logano, attempting to improve his position, made a move beneath Stenhouse that resulted in a multi-car collision, relegating him to 35th place.
Ryan Blaney emerged as Team Penske's highest finisher in seventh position. Despite suffering damage in the Logano-Stenhouse incident and hitting the outside wall, his crew made sufficient repairs to keep him competitive. Blaney, who led 23 laps, skillfully avoided the final lap chaos by taking the bottom line and staying clear of the wreck.
The team's combined performance showcased their strength at superspeedways, but the aggressive nature of Daytona's closing laps once again proved challenging for even the most dominant cars.
