Super DIRTcar Series Season Opener at New Egypt: Power in The Pines Highlights

A strong field of big-block modifieds kicked off the 2025 Super DIRTcar Series at New Egypt Speedway under new leadership of Chris Moore. The event drew notable non-regular drivers including Danny Creeden, Louden Reimer, and David Schilling.

Stewart Friesen, fresh from Friday's truck race, led 51 of 75 laps to claim his first career Series win at New Egypt. Young Logan Watt impressed with a third-place finish in his SDS debut, while veteran Matt Sheppard worked his way from 25th after a heat race incident.

The rapidly changing weather saw temperatures drop from 73 to 51 degrees within a 30-minute span during the event.

The Series continues at Albany Saratoga on April 18th, marking the track's 60th season opener. Competitors showcased tight competition with the top 16 cars qualifying within 3/10ths of a second during time trials, highlighting the competitive nature of the field.

Louden Reimer's team plans to expand their big-block program, targeting races at Georgetown, Big Diamond, Selinsgrove, and the five-race event at Middletown, while maintaining their PA 358 commitments at Big Diamond and Grandview.
