Team owner Mike Shank received the news of the reunion from HRC US president David Salters, marking a significant comeback after the team's challenging 2023 season. The partnership now features an expanded program with two Acura ARX-06 cars in the GTP class.

The team's driver lineup combines experience with fresh talent:

  • Returning drivers: Colin Braun and Tom Blomqvist
  • New additions: Renger van der Zande (from Cadillac) and Nick Yelloly (from BMW Team RLL)
  • Rolex 24 additions: Felix Rosenqvist, Kakunoshin Ohta, Alex Palou, and Scott Dixon

MSR has maintained nearly its entire engineering staff from 2023, losing only one member from a team of 23. The program features a unique engineering structure, with MSR leading one car and HRC leading the other, creating a collaborative team effort.

The Acura ARX-06 remains mechanically unchanged, though software updates have been implemented. This consistency should benefit the team, particularly in the early season races. Following successful testing at the Roar Before the 24, MSR aims to compete for podium positions immediately upon their return.

"We expect to come back on the podium," Shank stated confidently. "Maybe we don't win, but there's no reason we shouldn't be challenging for the podium places."
