Alexies Fernandez, a former Marine Corps Sergeant, now serves as an NOC Technician at EVgo, managing their fleet of electric vehicle chargers. His transition from providing power to military operations to maintaining civilian charging infrastructure showcases how military skills transfer to civilian careers.

During his eight-year service in the Marines, Alexies trained at Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay, and South Korea. He deployed to Kuwait and Iraq as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, where he was responsible for powering critical field operations, including communications, security, and headquarters facilities.

As a Platoon Sergeant, Alexies managed personnel while ensuring reliable power distribution for military operations. This experience naturally translated to his current role at EVgo, where he troubleshoots charging stations and coordinates with manufacturers to maintain optimal service.

"I enjoy the camaraderie we have as a team," Alexies says about working at EVgo. "I also enjoy having a purpose – assisting EV drivers on their daily commutes and providing cleaner air for our world."

The discipline and leadership skills gained during his military service help Alexies maintain professionalism and focus in his civilian role. His journey to EVgo began at a Veterans Job Fair, demonstrating the valuable opportunities available to veterans in the growing electric vehicle infrastructure sector.

Today, Alexies continues his mission of service by ensuring EVgo's charging network remains reliable and accessible for electric vehicle drivers across the country, applying the same dedication he showed during his military service to advance sustainable transportation solutions.
