The 2022 Indy Lights champion confirmed he will attend the season opener at St. Petersburg, though not as a competitor. In a social media statement, Lundqvist revealed that CGR terminated his multi-year agreement in January 2025, despite a successful rookie season that included:
- A Pole Award at Road America
- Podium finishes at Barber and St. Louis
- Rookie of the Year honors
Lundqvist expressed disappointment but maintained professionalism, acknowledging his appreciation for working with Chip, Mike Hull, and the CGR team. He indicated that resolution efforts are ongoing through his contract provisions with CGR, while he simultaneously explores other racing opportunities, preferably in IndyCar.
The Swedish driver thanked his supporters, particularly The American Legion family, and expressed his determination to return to competitive racing soon.
