Le Mans revises qualifying format for 2025 with expanded Hyperpole shootout
The ACO has unveiled significant changes to the Le Mans 24 Hours qualifying format for 2025, introducing a new two-part Hyperpole shootout system with expanded participation.

Key Changes for Wednesday, June 11:
- LMP2 and LMGT3: 30-minute qualifying session, top 12 advance to Hyperpole
- Hypercar: Separate session, top 15 prototypes advance to Hyperpole
Thursday, June 12 Hyperpole Format:

LMGT3 and LMP2:
- 20-minute session for qualified 24 cars
- Top 8 advance to 15-minute final shootout
- Winners claim class pole positions

Hypercar:
- Initial session for top 15 qualifiers
- Top 10 advance to 15-minute final shootout
- Winner secures overall pole position
This new format expands from the previous system, which limited Hyperpole participation to just eight cars per class in a single session.
