Lamborghini plans to adopt a more selective approach to customer racing programs when introducing its new Temerario GT3 car, focusing on supporting fewer but more performance-oriented teams.

Technical director Rouven Mohr emphasized that quality will take precedence over quantity, marking a shift from the brand's previous wider-spread strategy. This decision follows Lamborghini's successful 2024 season, which included victories in the British GT Championship and DTM with the Huracan GT3 EVO II.

The Temerario GT3's introduction will be phased across key championships in Europe, Asia, and North America. Final team selections and racing programs will be determined after Q3 2025, following extensive testing periods. While the potential debut at the 2026 Rolex 24 At Daytona remains uncertain, Mohr acknowledges it as an ambitious but challenging goal.

Regarding LMGT3 class participation, Lamborghini's return depends on their LMDh program developments. For 2025, the manufacturer will maintain its presence in GT World Challenge Europe's Pro class and participate in both Intercontinental GT Challenge 24-hour races at Spa-Francorchamps and Nürburgring, with at least one entry in each event.

The company also confirmed its commitment to DTM following their 2024 championship success, with no plans to reduce their involvement in the series.

Key points about the transition:

  • Focus on high-performance teams
  • Phased introduction in key markets
  • Extensive testing planned for mid-2025
  • Continued support for current Huracan GT3 EVO II programs
  • Strategic alignment with LMDh program development

This targeted approach aims to maintain Lamborghini's competitive edge in GT racing while ensuring optimal support for selected customer teams.
