John Moore Clinches Thrilling Trans Am West Victory in Buttonwillow Photo Finish
In a thrilling Trans Am Series race at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, John Moore secured his first career victory in a nail-biting finish, edging out Ken Sutherland by just 0.277 seconds in the TA Cup class.

Moore, driving the No. 27 JM Environmental Ford Mustang, led from pole position to checkered flag in the debut of the TA Cup class. The intense 75-minute battle culminated in a dramatic final lap where Sutherland briefly took the lead before Moore reclaimed it after Sutherland spun his tires on the front straight. Derek Thorn finished a close third in his series debut.
In the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, defending champion Brody Goble picked up where he left off in 2023, claiming victory in his No. 69 Brown Bros Ford Lincoln Ford Mustang. Mia Lovell impressed in her Western Championship debut with a second-place finish, while Barry Boes completed the podium.
