Racing prodigy Jacob Denney set the pace during Friday night's USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship practice at Ventura Raceway, California, clocking the fastest lap at 12.016 seconds on the 1/5-mile dirt oval.

The practice sessions previewed Saturday's 83rd Turkey Night Grand Prix, which offers a $15,000 prize to the winner. Among the 50 participating cars, 2023 Don Basile Rookie Corey Day claimed second with 12.039s, while USAC National Midget points leader Daison Pursley secured third at 12.118s.

- Four-time Turkey Night victor Kyle Larson (9th)

NASCAR stars also made their Ventura debuts, with Cup Series champion Kyle Busch placing 31st and Xfinity champion Ty Gibbs finishing 32nd in practice.
The evening saw two identical incidents when Tyler Edwards and Dalten Gabbard each clipped turn three, resulting in multiple flips before landing safely. Both drivers emerged unharmed.
Saturday's main event begins at 3:30pm local time, featuring both the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship and the Ultimate Sprint Car Series, with live streaming available on FloRacing.
