Lewis Hamilton says experiencing Ferrari's passion was "awe-inspiring" during his first test at Fiorano, completing 30 laps while crowds of fans gathered to watch the historic moment.

The seven-time world champion described driving a Ferrari Formula 1 car as one of the most special moments in his career. "When I started the car up and drove through that garage door, I had the biggest smile on my face. It reminded me of the very first time I tested a Formula 1 car," Hamilton said.

The test session included Charles Leclerc completing 14 laps in damp conditions, with Ferrari using 131km of their allowed 1000km yearly testing allocation. Leclerc expressed enthusiasm about returning to the track, noting the fan turnout and describing Hamilton's first Ferrari drive as "a special moment for the team."

Team Principal Fred Vasseur emphasized the day's operational importance, particularly as Hamilton began working with his new race engineer Riccardo Adami. The session served as preparation for both drivers ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Hamilton reflected on the experience: "I already knew from the outside how passionate the Ferrari family is, from everyone in the team to the Tifosi. But to now witness it firsthand as a Ferrari driver has been awe-inspiring. That passion runs through their veins and you can't help but be energized by it."
