Mercedes demonstrated exceptional performance, leading every practice session and securing pole position through George Russell. However, Hamilton's mistakes in Q3 relegated him to tenth position on the starting grid.

Despite starting from P10, Hamilton managed to fight his way through the field, ultimately helping secure a Mercedes one-two finish by backing up Russell. The seven-time world champion acknowledged the team's outstanding performance and noted that the car felt better than ever before.

"If I'd done my job yesterday, it would have been a breeze today," Hamilton reflected. He expressed optimism about the team's prospects for upcoming races, suggesting they could challenge for top positions consistently if the car maintains this level of performance.

Interestingly, Hamilton found more enjoyment in his recovery drive than he might have experienced leading from pole position. "When whoever it is faces adversity and has to battle through, it just feels so much better when you do succeed," he explained, highlighting the satisfaction of overcoming challenges during the race.

The British driver also took a moment to congratulate Max on securing the championship, while emphasizing that with the title decided, the focus now shifts to maximizing results in the remaining races.
