Justin Haers secured a strong second-place finish in the opening 30-lap Super DIRTcar Series Modified event at the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.

Haers demonstrated his mastery of the challenging Volusia surface, showing dominant speed at various points throughout the race. "At times tonight I think we were the best car on the track," Haers reflected, noting his previous success at the venue with two wins. Despite some late-race steering issues, his experience at the track proved valuable.

Jimmy Phelps finished fourth, adapting to changing track conditions from heat to feature. He acknowledged that track position from the initial draw impacted passing opportunities, as competitors maintained similar speeds throughout the race.

Billy Pauch Jr., who had initially secured fast time and a heat win, rounded out the top five. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, marking his best showing at Volusia, though noting he lost ground to competitors Sheppard, Yankowski, and Haers during restarts.

The race marked an exciting start to the 2025 Modified season at Volusia, showcasing intense competition and skillful driving from the field's top competitors.
