Pierre Gasly secured an impressive third place on the grid for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, marking Alpine's continued strong performance following their double-podium in Brazil.

Gasly executed what he called a "very special lap" in Q3, placing him behind only George Russell and Carlos Sainz. This achievement is particularly notable given Alpine's challenging start to the season, where they began from the back row in Bahrain.
The French driver attributed their success to an aggressive low-downforce package, optimized for Las Vegas' long straights. Despite the challenging cold conditions and unique track characteristics, Gasly maintained strong performance throughout practice sessions and into qualifying.
"We went with a pretty aggressive package in terms of downforce, running very little around this track," Gasly explained. "We try to maximize the straight lines, though it makes corners more challenging."
Looking ahead to the race, Gasly remains focused on Alpine's broader objective of defending their sixth place in the constructors' championship, rather than battling with the Red Bulls, McLarens, and Ferraris starting behind him. The team anticipates tire graining challenges during the race but remains optimistic about scoring valuable points from their strong grid position.
This qualifying result represents Gasly's first top-three start and continues Alpine's recent upturn in form, demonstrating significant progress from their early-season struggles.
