Ferrari Secures Historic 1-2-3 Finish at Qatar WEC Season Opener
The Ferrari 499P team secured a dominant 1-2-3 finish at the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season opener in Qatar, mirroring Porsche's achievement from the previous year. The 10-hour race at Lusail International Circuit saw the No. 50 car of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen claim victory after executing a strategic tire management plan.
The winning team recovered from an early spin following contact with the WRT BMW to take control of the race in the final hours. A crucial faster pit stop in the closing stages helped secure their victory by 2.3 seconds over the No. 83 AF Corse Ferrari of Yifei Ye, Phil Hanson, and Robert Kubica.
The pole-sitting No. 51 Ferrari completed the podium despite receiving two drive-through penalties. BMW's WRT team finished fourth, while Toyota settled for fifth and sixth places with their GR010 HYBRIDs lacking pace throughout the event.

A dramatic incident between Cadillac teammates Jenson Button and Alex Lynn during a safety car period compromised both cars' chances, with the No. 12 finishing eighth and the No. 38 in 16th. Porsche struggled with both factory cars finishing outside the top nine, while Alpine and Peugeot also had challenging races.
In LMGT3, TF Sport's Corvette Z06 GT3.R claimed victory from 13th on the grid. Daniel Juncadella, Ben Keating, and Jonny Edgar secured the win after a thrilling battle with the United Autosports McLaren, which finished second. The Bend WRT BMW completed the podium in third.
