ESPN Breaks Viewing Record as 1.1 Million Watch Australian Grand Prix
ESPN achieved record-breaking viewership for the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, with an average of 1.1 million viewers tuning in to watch Lando Norris's dramatic victory.

F1 cars compete on racetrack
The midnight ET race shattered the previous record of 659,000 viewers set in 2019, reaching a peak audience of 1.3 million during the opening laps. This represents a significant increase from the 541,000 viewers who watched Carlos Sainz's victory on ESPN2 in 2024.
While slightly below the 2024 Bahrain season opener (1.12 million viewers) and 2023's race (1.32 million viewers), these numbers are particularly impressive considering the challenging Australian time zone for U.S. viewers.
The strong viewership suggests 2025 could be a record-breaking year for F1 on ESPN. This comes as Formula 1 enters its final year with the network, with streaming giants Netflix, Apple, and Amazon competing for future broadcasting rights in the United States.
