Early Penalty Can't Stop Zilisch from Xfinity Series Victory at COTA
An 18-year-old Connor Zilisch showcased remarkable resilience to win the Focused Health 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Circuit of the Americas, overcoming multiple setbacks along the way.

Despite a commitment line violation that sent him to the rear of the field and restarting 32nd after the first stage break, Zilisch masterfully worked his way through the pack. He took the lead from Carson Kvapil on lap 56 of the 65-lap race at the 2.4-mile, 17-turn circuit.
The victory didn't come easily, as Zilisch had to manage a damaged right front fender and tire rub following contact with Corey Heim's Toyota. Even with these challenges, he maintained his lead when Kvapil suffered a flat tire with five laps remaining.
William Byron finished second, closing the gap to 1.639 seconds but unable to mount a serious challenge in the closing laps. Sam Mayer secured third place, while Atlanta winner Austin Hill finished fourth.
The win marks Zilisch's second Xfinity Series victory, following his debut win at Watkins Glen last summer. The young driver will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut in tomorrow's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, starting from 14th position.
