Dramatic last-corner pass gives Guenther victory in Jeddah E-Prix opener
Maximilian Guenther clinched victory in the first Jeddah E-Prix race with a dramatic last-lap pass on Oliver Rowland at the final chicane. The win marks the first time a polesitter has converted to victory in 17 races and Guenther's first triumph since Tokyo last year.

Two IndyCars racing on circuit
Despite starting from pole, Guenther lost the lead to Rowland on lap 11 at Turn 13. Rowland built a substantial lead after utilizing his Attack Mode power boost in clear air and maintained his advantage through the Pit Boost phase.
Guenther's strategic energy management before pitting and well-timed Attack Mode usage enabled his comeback. In the final four laps, he mounted intense pressure on Rowland, ultimately making the decisive move at the Turn 14-15-16 chicane on the last lap.
Taylor Barnard completed the podium in third, followed by Nyck de Vries in fourth for Mahindra. Jake Hughes finished fifth, with Jean-Eric Vergne and Edoardo Mortara taking sixth and seventh respectively.
Notable incidents included a first-lap collision between Pascal Wehrlein and Mitch Evans, with both championship contenders failing to score points. Nico Mueller and Jake Dennis were the race's only retirements.
The result reshuffles the championship standings, with Rowland now leading by four points over Antonio Felix da Costa. Guenther moves up to third, while TAG Heuer Porsche maintains its lead in the teams' championship, though Nissan now leads the manufacturers' standings.
