Dane Cameron Joins AO Racing for 2025 IMSA LMP2 Campaign
Dane Cameron joins AO Racing's ambitious LMP2 program after clinching the 2024 GTP championship with Porsche Penske Motorsport. The American driver sees this move as a long-term commitment rather than a temporary position.

AO Racing has assembled a strong lineup for their sophomore ORECA campaign. Team owner PJ Hyett will share driving duties with Cameron, 2024 ELMS LMP2 champion Jonny Edgar for endurance races, and IndyCar driver Christian Rasmussen for the Rolex 24.
Cameron emphasizes that winning in LMP2 holds equal significance to his GTP success: "I don't really place any more significance on winning the GTP championship as I would an LMP2 championship. They're all really competitive. They're all really difficult."
The team has experienced rapid growth since its 2022 founding, notably winning the 2024 GTD Pro championship with their distinctive "Rexy" Porsche. Team owner Hyett maintains their unique approach to racing: "People may be a little confused because we came to win, but we also like to have fun. You can do both things at the same time."
AO Racing's 12-car LMP2 class entry for the Rolex 24 At Daytona showcases their commitment to growth and success in sports car racing. With Cameron's experience and the team's proven track record, they aim to secure their first LMP2 title while maintaining their fan-favorite status.
