Cornwall Champion Marc LaLonde Prepares for Final Full-Time Racing Season
Marc Lalonde enters his final full-time racing season as reigning Cornwall Motor Speedway champion, marking the end of a remarkable 20-year journey that combined racing with education.
After securing a respectable 10th place finish at Port Royal Speedway despite a flat tire setback, Lalonde aims to defend his Cornwall Motor Speedway title while expanding his racing schedule. He plans to compete weekly at Mohawk on Friday nights and participate in the Pro-Stock Dirt Series, a long-time ambition.

The No. 8 Racing Car Project, launched in January 2005 by Marc and Josee Lalonde at École Secondaire Catholique de Plantagenet, has been transforming technical education for two decades. The program bridges classroom theory with hands-on experience, spawning one of the Northeast's premier Pro-Stock race teams.

Lalonde's racing journey began in 1990, leading to multiple championships including the 2019 Airborne Park Speedway title and 2023 Cornwall Motor Speedway Championship. The program's future remains uncertain as the Lalondes prepare for retirement next spring, though Marc expresses willingness to guide potential successors.
