Despite a rainy morning, the track delivered exceptional sprint car action. Twenty drivers competed, with Briggs Danner and Chris Allen winning their respective heats. Dale Schweikart started from pole position, alongside Ed Aikin and Briggs Danner.
Danner took an early lead on lap one after Schweikart's aggressive slide affected Aikin's momentum. Kenny Miller III mounted a strong challenge mid-race, joined by reigning champion Steven Drevicki. The race's dynamics shifted after a caution on lap 10 for Tony Jackson.
Bruno's strategic bottom-lane approach in his Bentley Truck Service Inc. 17B proved decisive in the closing laps. He used a lapped car as a pick to secure the lead with three laps remaining, successfully defending against Danner's last-lap challenge.
