Before the crash, Balog showed impressive performance at Volusia:
- Qualified second in his flight during season's first full points night
- Won his Heat race
- Achieved personal best sixth-place finish at Volusia
- Secured another top 10 in the following event
- Qualified second despite drawing last in the finale
The Hartland, WI resident credits his success to lessons learned from the previous year's practice sessions and a well-prepared new Triple X car. This experience has bolstered his confidence for upcoming races.
Balog returns to competition at the Bike Week Jamboree at Volusia (March 2-3), followed by races at:
- Talladega Short Track, Eastaboga, AL (March 7)
- Magnolia Motor Speedway, Columbus, MS (March 8)
The schedule marks the beginning of 17 consecutive weeks of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car racing, with Balog ready to build on his sophomore season momentum.
