NRG eVgo has expanded its Freedom Station network to Berkeley, California, marking the city's first DC fast-charging location. The station is strategically placed at Whole Foods (3000 Telegraph Ave) and features both a CHAdeMO DC fast charger and a Level 2 charging terminal.

Customers can access the charging station using either a credit card or by subscribing to NRG eVgo's charging plans, making it convenient for both regular and occasional users.

The timing aligns well with Berkeley's growing electric vehicle adoption, as the city reports approximately 350 registered EVs, with 70% of these registrations occurring within the past six months, showing significant local momentum in EV adoption.

This installation continues NRG eVgo's expansion of charging infrastructure throughout California, supporting the state's push toward electric mobility.
