Alpine's LMDH program is gearing up for a transformative 2025 FIA WEC season after addressing key reliability issues that plagued their debut year. The French manufacturer has focused extensively on engine improvements following their disappointing 2024 Le Mans performance.

The team has implemented significant updates to their A424 prototype's turbo V6 engine while maintaining its original base architecture. These modifications, developed at Alpine's Viry facility, aim to resolve the reliability concerns that led to both cars retiring early at Le Mans 2024.

Alpine has also refreshed their driver lineup, bringing in Frederic Makowiecki from Porsche and promoting Jules Gounon from reserve driver. They join returning drivers Charles Milesi, Paul Loup Chatin, Ferdinand Habsburg, and Mick Schumacher. Former driver Nicolas Lapierre transitions to sporting director, while Matthieu Vaxiviere moves to a reserve role.

Team boss Philippe Sinault maintains realistic expectations for 2025, prioritizing reliability over outright performance. The team completed 684 trouble-free laps during the Qatar Prologue, suggesting progress with their reliability improvements. While not yet expecting to challenge Toyota, Ferrari, and Porsche consistently, Alpine aims for top-five finishes and zero DNFs to start the season.

The program shows promising momentum following their 2024 Fuji podium finish, with both Alpine and Signatech working intensively through winter testing to optimize their package. The focus now shifts to translating their improved reliability into consistent race performance throughout the 2025 season.
