
36 Cars Confirmed for 2025 FIA WEC Season with Eight Hypercar Manufacturers
A groundbreaking 36-car grid will compete in the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship, equally divided between Hypercar and LMGT3 classes, despite the entry cap being raised to 40 cars.

In the Hypercar class, eight major manufacturers will each field two factory cars under the new "two-car" rule. Aston Martin THOR Team joins with two LMH-spec Valkyrie AMR-LMHs, featuring a non-hybrid V12 engine, debuting in Qatar this February.
Notable changes include Lamborghini Iron Lynx's exit after just one season, and Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA's formal entry with two V-Series.Rs following their split from Chip Ganassi Racing. Alex Lynn will pilot the No. 12 car, while Earl Bamber takes the wheel of No. 38.
The Hypercar class maintains just two private entries: Proton's No. 99 Porsche and AF Corse's No. 83 Ferrari 499P. Returning factory teams include Toyota GAZOO Racing, Porsche Penske Motorsport, Ferrari AF Corse, Peugeot TotalEnergies, BMW Team WRT, and Alpine Endurance Team.
LMGT3 maintains its 18-car field with eight returning manufacturers from 2024. Key changes include:
- Mercedes-AMG joins through Iron Lynx
- Iron Dames switches to Porsche
- Racing Spirit of Léman replaces D'Station in Aston Martin
- Returning teams: WRT (BMW), Vista AF Corse (Ferrari), AKKODIS ASP (Lexus), TF Sport (Corvette), United Autosports (McLaren), and Proton Competition (Ford)
The 2025 season kicks off with the Qatar 1812km on February 28.
