The updated 2025 Volvo XC90 receives significant tech and design upgrades while retaining its proven powertrain options. Available as the 2025.5 model year, prices range from $58,450 to $80,700.

Key exterior changes include a new crosshatch chrome grille design, simplified Iron Mark badge, and modernized Thor's Hammer headlights. The interior features a larger multimedia screen powered by Google's operating system with voice activation.

Inside, premium sustainable materials like Nordico leatherette and woven polyester create an upscale feel. The redesigned floating-style center console includes an Orrefors crystal-topped gear shifter and wireless phone charging.

Three powertrain options remain:

  • B5 mild hybrid: 247 HP, 26 MPG estimated
  • B6 mild hybrid: 295 HP, 23 MPG estimated
  • T8 plug-in hybrid: 455 HP, 33-mile electric range, 27 MPG hybrid mode

Notable updates include:

  • Center row captain's chairs now feature armrests with retractable cup holders
  • Four sets of LATCH points for car seats
  • Integrated booster seat available with bench seat configuration
  • Improved multimedia interface with customizable toolbar
  • Sustainable interior materials including backlit wood trim

The T8 plug-in hybrid stands out with its combination of power and efficiency, making it particularly compelling for families needing both space and performance. The 6-passenger T8 Plus trim at $76,300 offers excellent value with features like a panoramic sunroof and Nordic interior.

Production begins soon, but buyers should verify they're getting the updated 2025.5 model to ensure all new features are included.
